Mission Statement

The Harbor & River Advisory Committee was formed in April of 2002 with the following purpose:

This committee will focus on any and all issues related to the Kalamazoo River, Lake Kalamazoo, and Lake Michigan as they pertain to the Village of Douglas. Primary areas of focus will be boating viability, docking, channel navigation, boating signage, and dredging. It is proposed that the Committee be comprised of at least three residents of the Village with experience and expertise in the focus areas, and one member from the Council. The meeting schedule should be no less than monthly at the outset, and may be reduced to bimonthly or quarterly on a seasonal basis. Finally, the City of Saugatuck and the Township will be invited to participate.
