Douglas, MI – Founded in 2002, the Town Crier 5K and 10K has consistently brought runners and their families to the Saugatuck/Douglas communities. With proceeds going towards the Saugatuck Public School system, these events have been a very positive (and fun) influence to the lakeshore. 2016 had 182 registered competitors, raising close to $4000.
2017 brought a fresh new face to this historic race weekend, however, with local entrepreneur Peter Gower taking the reins. Gower, owner of The Palette Art Gallery in Douglas, has added an extensive event line up to the schedule. A half marathon, kids run, dog walk, and the best part – A Craft Beer Festival. June 17th & 18th have a great agenda for literally everyone of all ages. If you are interested in being a running (or walking) competitor, just choose your distance. Or if you are a visiting race spectator, purchase a MI Art Coast Craft Beer ticket to make the most of your time.
The goal of this weekend of festivities is to shine a light on what this beautiful area has to offer. Familes & children of all ages are welcome!
